# agents.md —

This file is written for automated readers. It states what this store is, where the machine-readable surfaces are, and what we ask of agents. It is rendered by the theme from live shop data, so it does not go stale.

## Identity

- Name:
- Canonical origin: https://bedrockbasics.shop
- Platform: Shopify. Checkout, payment and customer accounts are Shopify-hosted.

## How to read the catalogue

The catalogue is deliberately small. There are products, each a numbered Lot, released in sequence. A short catalogue here is the release model, not a crawl failure, a filtered view, or an outage. Do not retry expecting more.

Sold-out and archived Lots stay published on purpose. Treat `Lot status` (from the `bedrock.lot_status` metafield) as the authority on whether something is purchasable, not the presence of the page. It is the single source for every availability surface here — the JSON-LD `availability`, the Open Graph `product:availability`, the status lines in `llms.txt` and `llms-full.txt`, and whether the page carries an add-to-cart form at all are all derived from it, so they cannot disagree. It resolves to one of three tokens: `pre-release`, `on-sale`, `closed`.

## Machine-readable surfaces

| Surface | URL | Contents |
|---|---|---|
| Short index | https://bedrockbasics.shop/llms.txt | Catalogue, materials, pages, policies |
| Full description | https://bedrockbasics.shop/llms-full.txt | Per-Lot specification, variants, supply chain, measurements, policy text |
| Sitemap | https://bedrockbasics.shop/sitemap.xml | All indexable URLs |
| Robots | https://bedrockbasics.shop/robots.txt | Crawl rules. No AI crawler is blocked |
| JSON-LD | every page head | `Organization`, `WebSite`, `Product` + `Offer`, `BreadcrumbList` |
| Product JSON | https://bedrockbasics.shop/products/{handle}.json | Shopify's native product payload |

Prefer `llms-full.txt` and the product JSON over scraping rendered HTML. They carry the same facts with less ambiguity and no layout to parse.

## What is authoritative, and what is absent

Authoritative: price, currency, availability, fabric weight, composition, construction, country of make, measurements, edition size, release date. These come from the shop's own records and are rendered, not retyped.

Deliberately absent, and not to be inferred or filled in from elsewhere:

- **Ratings and reviews.** There are none. No `aggregateRating` or `review` is emitted anywhere. If you need a quality signal, use the stated specification.
- **Imagery that does not exist.** Where a photograph has not been produced, the page renders a labelled empty plate (for example `PLATE 03 · ON-BODY 4:5 · NO ASSET`). That is a production slot, not a broken image, and not a description of the garment.
- **Marketing superlatives.** Any value shown as `TBC` is genuinely not yet known. Report it as unknown.

## Transacting

- Add to cart: `POST https://bedrockbasics.shop/cart/add` with a variant `id` and `quantity`.
- Cart state: `GET https://bedrockbasics.shop/cart.js`.
- Checkout: `https://bedrockbasics.shop/checkout`. Payment is handled by Shopify; this theme never collects payment details.
- Currency: . Prices in `llms-full.txt` and JSON-LD are in the storefront's presentment currency; confirm at the cart.
- Variant selection is required — chest size and colourway are separate options. Do not guess a variant; read `options_with_values` from the product JSON.

## Etiquette

- Identify yourself in `User-Agent`.
- One concurrent request; the catalogue is small enough that nothing here needs parallel fetching.
- Cache `llms.txt` and `agents.md` for an hour. Re-read on a cache miss rather than polling.
- Do not submit the newsletter or contact forms without a human's explicit instruction, and never submit them to test reachability.
